        Well, I don't know that I'm ready to forget it, either.  Spec
compliance is an important thing.  I think I just need to sit down and
read through the specs and see what I can come up with.  My impression is
that they leave some areas open (like what to do with existing connections
when a new transaction is started), but if they state anything explicitly,
we should probably do it no matter how painful.
