Hi,

Sounds to me like the dreaded "JMX does bad jboss.jcml change"
bug, rather than a problem with shutdown.

I think that Aaron Mulder fixed this in cvs.

If you prefer to use your existing binary, take a backup of
the conf/jboss.jcml file and restore the backup before
starting jboss.
That's a lot easier than reinstallation.
