Jerzy,

jBoss is really easy to use.  Unzip the file, and (on Win32) run run.bat 
in the bin directory.  That will start the server.  To stop it, just do a 
Ctrl-C in the server console window.  (Supposedly you can remotely stop 
with stop.jar, but I haven't played around with that too much).  To deploy 
an app, just drop the ejb-jar in the deploy directory, and it will be 
automatically deployed.
