You still get the same exception?

Never said you should either. I said "add it to your clients classpath",
but how you do that is up to you. If your client is packaged as a JAR
file you could simply add "Class-Path: jndi.jar" to your JAR's manifest
file. That's a much better way to handle classpaths.
