Spoke with another AS/400 pro yesterday.  He's experiencing similar problems
with OutputStreams created from java.io.File using WebLogic on the same
AS/400 as I'm having problems with.  He seems to believe it's that
particular AS/400's performance (or lack thereof) that is the root of the
problem.  I don't disagree with him but my inclination is to be suspicious
of the IBM JVM on that machine.

thats sounds intersting for me. If it works with the AS400 please tell me.
The jdbc driver that is used in the doc is not for use directly on the
AS400, there should be used another driver which lies somewhere in the IFS.
And has another Package and Classname I think. But it is recommended that
you use not jt400.jar.
On our machine the Java Toolbox is not installed right.
Could you please post the archive name, the jar filename and the JDBC
connect URL from the other driver ?
