If you mean the two lines in conf/jboss.conf:
I tried uncommenting one of the two lines which state to be uncommented
in order to work with Tomcat. Then, I uncommented the other entry and
commented out the previous entry.
What I learned is that I'm getting a java error with each line uncommented.
Any other ideas?

At first blush this looks like you have both the Embedded Tomcat
running, and the non-Embedded.
I could be wrong, but I remember doing something similar myself. The
comments in jboss.properties don't tell you that you only need to/should
uncomment one of those two Tomcat MBEANs.
Thanks,
