I think the JVM is the more critical component here !

I myself will be running on a Solaris machine as the EJB server and client
Linux on PPC and Intel (RedHat and/or SUSE based) and maybe NT :-P, so
jBoss' pureness allows it to run happily on each platform - heterogeneous
unlike j2ee etc... <CRAWL>HUGE thanks to the jBoss developers here !</CRAWL>

I reckon most critical security is more up to you than the distribution.
Shutoff unneeded services (SMTP,FTP,Telnet etc.) wherever and whenever
possible and always make sure you monitor security updates and then switch
to things like SSH and SCP. Sorry if I'm telling you what you know already
:-)
