It sounds like you need to (1) come up with a list of all authors, and (2)
make sure there's a check in every box indicating that they're all on board
with the change.
You should probably come up with some legal language like,
"I, Ken Jenks, residing at 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Springfield, TA, USA,
hereby agree to the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL)
for all code and documentation I contributed to the jBoss, SpyderMQ,
Minerva, Zola and/or Zoap projects from 1 January 1999 until 31 December
2000. I authorize the jBoss board or their agent to place a notice into any
such code or documentation saying it may be distributed under the terms of
the LGPL per term 0 of the LGPL."
You might have every author send that message to you via private e-mail
(not posted to a public mailing list). Depending on what degree of legal
protection you need, you may even need to have each author sign a piece of
paper with that kind of statement and mail it in, keeping all of the
paperwork on file forever.
After you get authorization from each and every one of the authors, you
need to go through every piece of code and every document and insert the
LGPL notice.
