Forget about KAWA, JBuilder, Forte, jEdit... Here is
something for real men. CodeGuide from
www.omnicore.com, costs about $100 a copy.
It speeds up the development at least 4x, because:
- you can get started with it in 5 mins.
- magically verifies your code as you type(you never
need to press the compile button, run ANT, etc.) This
makes you a VERY, VERY, VERY fast coder as it saves
time!
- has a rock-stable debugger (I debug jBoss, Orion,
JSP ..as easy as my first "Hello world" applet.)
- does method completion
- has a class/method/file browser
- knows about XML, HTML
- does not polute the source tree with project files
- is pure java
- German thing!
It was enough good for me to stop using KAWA.
