I too was very pleasantly surprised by CodeGuide - I thought a pure Java IDE
would be slooow on my PC, especially after runnig NetBeans and having to go
get coffee everytime I tried to do anything :-) - CodeGuide is blisteringly
fast, especially if you use Jikes as the compiler. However, I thought it was
missing a couple of useful attributes. like the ability to generate getters
and setters for fields etc.

As for the debugging - CodeGuide says it supports JPDA, but I can't find any
way to tell it to attach to a remote VM (I am running my IDE on Windoze, and
my test environment on Linux, and want to be able to debug remotely). Can
CodeGuide do this (as NetBeans can) ? Also, has anyone got this to work ? I
have tried using jdb against a VM running tomcat, with all the right
arguments to the VM (I think) but no luck - jdb just reports a
NullPointerException and hangs. This would be a cool way to debug if it
would work ...
The original poster who reccomended CodeGuide said he used it for debugging
JBoss and JSP - I would be interested to hear how he does this.
