i don't know if you want to hear this but i'm also on pgsql mail lists and
lately,there's been some interresting performance patches comited to cvs
and i think those patches have been backported to pgsql 7.0.3.

that said,an option i would like to propose (now or in a future project)
is that instead of sending the $1200 to microsoft,you could send it to
pgsql inc. <http://www.pgsql.com/> to have a specially tuned version
of pgsql ??
