Yes, the startup footprint is ~ 20Mb and that where it stays if I use its remote
debugging feature. JBoss gets as big as it gets depending on how many objects
I'm loading obviously but it is also very slim.

I use the open source version of forte for java(www.netbeans.org). It has good
cvs integration, a fast compiler and great extensibility. Now its footprint is
not small and trying to debug within it I also see large memory usage.
