Hi!
Storing Entity bean state in LDAP is possible.
I know of people who have done so. This could be particularly useful for managing User information that
is typically stored in LDAP servers.
It's a bit more difficult though since you can't use CMP for the Persistence. You need to implement the storing yourself using BMP(At least I don't know of any containers that use LDAP for persistence, although there is nothing that says you can't). This is not particularly difficult though and there are lots of examples of this.
The OpenEJB project has some Open Source code you might want to look at (www.openejb.com). It's in the Castor project.

Subject: [jBoss-User] EJB and LDAP: newbie question
Hi!
It's perhaps a silly questions but....
Is it possible store the state of an Entity bean (BMP
of course!? and CMP?) in an LDAP server ? Or it's
just to be used to store an entity bean reference for
later use ?
Thanks
Joel
