I don't believe this is the answer Indika is looking for. It is no problem to deploy new beans and have their tables created. But is it possible, having deployed an EJB and have the table created and populated, to re-deploy the EJB and with the new or adjusted fields to be updated in the table without externaly having to adjust the table.

No SQL is required...for standard stuff at least.

Just set the property of your entity and it should get persisted.
