I have Apache+mod_ssl+JBoss+Tomcat ... works like a charm.  BTW, the
JBoss+Tomcat combination is with them both in the same VM.

The Apache+mod_ssl is fairly straightforward -- just follow the instructions
at the Apache and OpenSSL sites.

You can get JBoss and Tomcat to work with Apache (in the same VM) by using
the modifications I've made.  Search the mail archives for the
Apache+Tomcat+JBoss messages for details.
