I downloaded jBoss with comcat(binary version) just two days ago. I unzip the it to D:\ and as a result, get two main folders and all the subfolders and files in D:\jboss_tomcat\jboss-2.0-FINAL\ and D:\jboss_tomcat\tomcat-3.2-b7\ . I went to D:\jboss_tomcat\jboss-2.0-FINAL\bin\ and run "run_with_tomcat.bat". I got hundreds of lines of exceptions. (I had JDK1.3 installed at D:\jdk1.3 and run win2k with 192M RAM). Searching the jboss mailing archive, I followed an advice and removed j2eesdk from CLASSPATH. It didn't help. Again, following an advice in the mailing archive, I copied fresh jboss.jcml file to replace the possibly corrupted jboss.jcml. Run "run_with_tomcat.bat" again, it didn't help either. Again, following an advice, I did "java -jar run.jar". I got it run as indicated by [Default] jBoss 2.0 FINAL Started but there's an exception: ...... [Auto deploy] Deployment failed:file:/D:/jboss_tomcat/jboss-2.0-FINAL/deploy/tom cat-test.ear [Auto deploy] org.jboss.deployment.J2eeDeploymentException: Application contains .war file, but no web container available! [Auto deploy] at org.jboss.deployment.J2eeDeployer.installApplication(J2eeDepl oyer.java:471) ...... Also, I don't believe tomcat is running at this time, because "java -jar run.jar" has nothing to do with tomcat. Am I missing something here? I thought it should be easy to get it run. How am i supposed to use the "run_with_tomcat.bat" batch file? Is it that it just didn't work for me or it's a common problem here? Would anybody pls help me? Thanks in advance.
