permgen space issues can sometimes be solved by setting additional params: -XX:PermSize=256m
-XX:MaxPermSize=1024m but it depends on the jvm you are using... Another thing is that the error shows in jbpm, but the memory (ab)usage can be caused by other apps ass well if they are running on the same machine. The scheduler running every 5 seconds is normal. It looks for timers that need to be fired.
