You can either go for Exploded deployement: http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=ExplodedDeployment or in the form of an archive(*.ear, *.war, *.jar etc...). In either case, you will place the application in the %JBOSS_HOME%/server/default/deploy directory.
