The dom4j for JBoss will always be a modified version that does not contain any 
of the xpath-related classes (see http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBAS-1970).

What we did was package dom4j.jar in the WEB-INF/lib directory of our war file, 
and that worked fine.
