First, try using the beta release instead of the alpha. Also, try using a clean workspace and see if the problem still persists.
Finally, Please say more about your process other than you opened JBoss IDE and "tried running JBoss". Which view were you using? The Servers view or the JBoss Server View? How did you create the server? How did you try to start it? At what point did you get the error?
