I hit the same problem, so I tried your suggestion.
Had to tweak it a little, but adding the resulting class (below) overcomes the
problem:
@Name("org.jboss.seam.security.identity")
| @Scope(ScopeType.SESSION)
| @Intercept(InterceptionType.AFTER_RESTORE_VIEW)
| public class MyIdentity extends RuleBasedIdentity
| {
| public String login() {
| return super.login();
| }
| }
