(answering to myself)
Using a default Security Manager helps.
In run.bat/run.sh:
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Djava.security.manager
-Djava.security.policy="server.policy"
and default server.policy:
grant {
| // Allow everything for now
| permission java.security.AllPermission;
| };
