The only thing I can think of type-mapping element in portal-sybase-ds.xml. I dont think that's needed. Little googling suggests that that's probably required for CMP. This is how mine looks like for MySql and this works:
<local-tx-datasource> <jndi-name>PortalDS</jndi-name> <connection-url>jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/portal</connection-url> <driver-class>org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver</driver-class> <user-name>portal</user-name> </local-tx-datasource> So, try removing type-mapping element and see how it goes. If you still get error then you need to post error log as well otherwise it's hard to find the solution.
