I ran into the same problem
Make sure you have following libraries as JBoss Clients
jbossall-client.jar
jboss-ejb3-client.jar
log4j.jar
You will find all the libraries in the ${JBOSS_HOME}/client
Remove the log4j1.2.x implementation from the class path
