@Stateless Seam components have a different contract from JavaBean Seam 
components - to make a choice you need to understand the difference which is 
explained in the reference manual.

I'm pretty sure that using @Stateless beans is going to improve the performance 
of your app significantly.

You don't really post enough information to for people to help you with your 
performance issue.
