Open source software cannot be bought out because no single party owns the
code; therefore nobody has the right to sell it. Moreover, JBoss is made
available under the terms of the LGPL. Your management may find helpful a
draft document that I have been working on with Marc Fleury (founder of the
JBoss project) which is temporarily available at

The site has recently been redesigned and you may have tried to access it
during one of the unavoidable outages. For your convenience, here is the
salient information from that page.
Java 2 Enterprise Edition and EJB on JBoss.
------------------
JBoss Group is offering both on-site and off-site training sessions. This
5-day class will teach you how to build advanced applications based on the
JBoss framework. Whether you are a software developer, architect, technical
lead or manager, you will find that our intermediate-to-advanced level class
focuses on the essentials of J2EE application development as well as JBoss
specific must-know features.
We explore in great detail the modular architecture of JBoss, powered by
Java Management eXtensions (JMX), configuration and remote usage. We focus
on the creation of custom extensions of our codebase such as custom
interceptors and advanced persistence engines, and teach you all that is
needed to take full advantage of the Open Source nature of JBoss. We can
target our class depending on whether you are an OEM/ISV looking to embed
JBoss.org technology, an ISP managing farms of JBoss servers or a tech-savvy
IT department.
