I remember reading somewhere that this is a limitation of Apj13 protocol, if you stop tomcat you have to restart Apache (it needs a socket connection open). You can try and switch back to using Apj12 and there should be no problems, although I don't think you can use SSL correctly with Apj12 and the performance isnt as good.

Not sure if I'm posting to the right place.  Basically I have the following setup:

Apache > mod_jk > Tomcat 3.2.1 + jBoss 2.2.1

Each time I shut down jboss and bring it up again, Apache doesn't recognize the connection anymore, my pages result in Not found, I have to restart apache again. 

Is this a shortcoming of mod_jk or simply something wrong with my setup?
