There's a feature request out for this in JAWS/JBossCMP. The EJB spec
indicates that bean providers are allowed to set this themselves on a
JDBC connection.

Actually, that's the transaction type ({Requires, RequiresNew,
Mandatory} work while {Supports, NotSupported, Never} behave
non-deterministically from container to container)
