I will suggest you that turn the result set into a vector of objects and
return back the vector to client side and do whatever you like there. I am
certain that you have no way to return a result to client. It is just like
what danch replied.

Short answer, no it's not a bug.
That's probably not a good thing to do: remember that EJBs are (among
other things) transactional - what you're trying to do is get a db
cursor in the context of some transaction and pass it back to the
client, with the transaction closing along the way!
