isModified() should still work for BMP.
With BMP you still define at ejbStore() method....
This method won't get called if isModified returns false...
check the DBSynchronization class...

I think isModified() applies only to CMP-Beans, with BMP (as far as I
remember) you take care of
making entities persistent in the database.
