I'm using JBoss with TomCat but I have a fairly generic problem. How is it possible to log in a web user implicitly rather than explicitly? So, for instance, if the user registers with the system by giving their details they have implicitly 'authenticated' themselves with the system, without having used any of the usual explicit mechanisms.
