I can do the following with Weblogic, but haven't seen anything that indicates
whether this is possible or if JBoss even does it. Can someone enlighten me
as to whether this IS possible and how to do it on JBoss?
I can configure the cache/pooling of EJBs in WL, so that when it starts up it
creates a certain number of instances of any EJBs I've got - so the EJB gets
fully created, initialized, etc. and is ready to go as soon as WL is finished
starting up.
The reason I ask is that we have one particular EJB (session) that does a fair
amount of work the first time one is initialized. On JBoss, this initialization
doesn't happen until, of course, the first time the EJB is requested which causes
delays for the first person hitting the application. It isn't horrible - on the level
of 5 seconds or so, but it would be nice to eliminate it (or at least move it to the
startup of the app server).
So - is it there?
