Hi Folks,

We are starting a project in JBoss and we have a debate as to whether to use
MySQL or HSQLDB in production. The timescale for deployment is tight

Can anybody give practical experience and/or facts to fuel this debate.

The basic argument is....

Pro Mysql: Good solid performant database with scalability in mind.
Con Mysql: We pay a development time penalty in terms of deployment

Pro HSQLDB: Ready built into JBoss, nothing to do for deployment
Con HSQLDB: ????????

[BTW The real issue is not actually whether we use MySQL, but can we get away
without using it for the first version, and switch over in a later version]

Many Thanks for any input

Ian Hunter
