I've configurged a local JMS resource adapter to connect with a JMS Queue
through the UIL2 service on a remote JBoss. Both are 4.0.3SP1. Communication
works without problem. But, I was hoping this approach would avoid me having
to deal with handling re-connect after the external server was bounced. I
don't have acces to the Connection object to use the solution described in
http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=IGetIOExceptionPingTimeoutHowDoIFixIt.

Are there any options that would allow the Resouce Adapter to recover after
temporary connection to external JMS Queue?
