Hi, I just bought my copy of MVCSoft's Persistence Manager. I intend to use it to develop an open-source implementation of OMG's General Ledger specification on which I'm currently working. This means that other developer's that wish to work on this project will also have to buy the MVCSoft Persistence Manager. I am convinced that this is a good idea; a) because I can't wait to use EJB 2.0 persistence in my JBOSS projects b) because it seems like a very good way to support our favorite open-source projects. Projects like JBOSS should definitely have a "Community" edition (that's all free) and a "Professional" edition that helps to support the group. (Actually, I'm fine with developer license costs, it's run-time license fees that my projects can't handle) However, the MVCSoft home page referred me to the JBOSS home page for details about the relationship between MVCSoft and JBOSS. Unfortunately there is nothing on the JBOSS page about this relationship. I do have some questions (if you feel you can share them with us at this time)... ...will your relationship with MVCSoft prevent JBOSS from ever offering an open-source EJB 2.0 Persistence Manager? ...JBOSS gets a significant share of the revenues (like it says on the MVCSoft page) doesn't it? ...any official plans to create a "Professional" edition that would group together all such third-party products?. thanks, ted stockwell _______________________________________________ JBoss-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-user
