may I ask why you 'were afraid that was going to be the answer'? These things are not obvious, think about systems where there are thousands of open tasks. Retrieving all in one go can put an unnecessary load on a system. So some kind of paging db side/ui side etc is needed. Extending the administrator webapp with this functionality could be nice. If you implement this and contribute, nobody has to be 'afraid' anymore ;-)
