Danny, I've had build problems similar to yours when I: 1) had spaces in the directory path where the code was located and 2) didn't get rid of the previous portal Eclipse project and code when I did a checkout. Do either of these apply to your situation? I use CVS in Eclipse to checkout portal code and I use build.bat from the command line to build.
