To follow up... Thanks for the pointer. I was able to take these instructions for 3.1 and make them work for 3.0.2.
For those who haven't done it yet, the quick answer is: 1) download and install the jBPM-db kit 2) create a datasource file 3) modify the jboss-service.xml file 4) modify files in the jbpm.sar.cfg.jar file. 5) restart your server In retrospect, pretty straight forward.
