Yes, the typedTargetObject is there in order to be able to optimize away 
reflection.

If you want to be able to change the target object you will need to use the non 
optimized weaving mode which calls via reflection

OR

Have an aspect at the end of the chain that makes the call you want and does 
not call invokeNext()
