Subject: unpleasant discussion for JBoss

Hello again, guys. As you could notice, JBoss administrators kicked me off
their users list due to last postings. I can understand that they have no
obligation to support this volunteerly developed product for free, and I
have
no right to demand it. But I think, there is an abuse of information
freedom
here. They do not want much negative truth exposed for their users. I
think,
they were especially irritated by last 2, where people consider
alternatives.
Seems, authorities might realise that it is not an easy bug to fix, but a
serious design failure that will stay onwards. It is not a spirit of open
commutiny.

Can we block this guy out? I think he is the most annoying user I have seen
in
ages.... Boris, if you really want support on your stuff and no-one answer
please take a support contract with us. Thanks.

No, unfortunately I didn't solve it. Fortunately :-) our business took a
strategic turn, and we ended up doing a purely servlet-based product,
without
using EJB. However, we are now returning to EJB, and taking a look at
JBoss
again, so I was hoping someone would have fixed this by now! Sorry I don't
have an answer, Roger.

Most of my hanging problems were due to database connections that I
retrieved
from the connection pool and which I did not return properly. Now, as am
sure
that all connections retrieved from the pool are returned, JBoss still
hangs
from time to time. I do not know what causes it and I have applied a
thousand
changes to my code none of which made any difference. At same point, a call
to
an ejb just does not return. At the moment, I am migrating my app to IBM
Websphere and hope the problem will go away which it might not.
