For a workaround, add <attribute name="UseInterceptorMbeans">false</attribute> to your config file. That will prevent registration of the MBeans (at the cost of them not being visible via JMX). Re: the depends elements, these are needed for most use cases of JBossCache inside the JBoss application server. Running outside of JBoss AS they do nothing.
