Thanks Viper, I can confirm that this works for those of us experiencing this problem on 4.0.3SP1 too.
Configuration: XP Home Ed. Oracle XE (10g rel 2) Jboss 4.0.3SP1 (configuration 'all', otherwise default options) JBoss Portal 2.2.1 Tomcat/console port: 8079 My XP install is pretty new, and my Java 1.5 SDK install is pretty sound too, so this issue could be more widespread than we first thought. I'd just like to say though, as someone who works for a company who pays billions to effectively test the beta releases of a faceless multi-national, this alpha is a very slick experience.
