I think that the Permanant Generation Space in the heap is a fixed size. You'll 
have to adjust it through JVM settings. I'm guessing your applications have a 
large number of different classes being loaded into memory, because this space 
holds class level metadata. (Changing -Xmx won't affect the PermGen space).
