Your jndi lookup looks correct. Couple of comments though: - you don't need @Remote on both the bean interface and the bean class. One or the other. - you don't need the @EJB annotation in your client class. @EJB annotations are only functional for managed components. - the bean interface does not need to extemd Serializable
