I think I have found an answer in JBossAOP sources.. see MethodMatcher.matchesClass(..). It uses the following expression:
| if (!Util.matchesClassExpr(node.getClazz(), ctMethod.getDeclaringClass(), advisor)) return false; | Where ctMethod is "remove" and ctMethod.getDeclaringClass() returns EJBObject in my case, and of course EJBOBject is not an instance of my remote interface (right the opposite is true :). Thus there seems to be no way to intercept non-overloaded methods in subclasses/subinterfaces :( Frankly, looks like a bug to me.
