I haven't used JOSSO, so I can't comment on it's usuage.

However, did you read the chapter on jboss security? This link takes you to the 
section on the default LDAP login module:

Does your application (for which you cannot modify the code) use classic J2EE 
security architecture (i.e. a security-constraint specified in web.xml)? If so, 
you should be able to use tomcat sso.
