What does the tomcat stats servlet say about the app
(http://lamia:8080/status?full=true)? When I run set the jmx-console session
timeout to 1 min and run a wget loop to create a bunch of sessions:

localhost/jmx-console

Start time: Thu May 25 08:23:59 PDT 2006 Startup time: 111 ms TLD scan time: 32
ms
Active sessions: 147 Session count: 147 Max active sessions: 147 Rejected
session creations: 0 Expired sessions: 0 Longest session alive time: 0 s
Average session alive time: 0 s Processing time: 0 ms
JSPs loaded: 2 JSPs reloaded: 4

then check again after a few mins all sessions have expired:

localhost/jmx-console

Start time: Thu May 25 08:23:59 PDT 2006 Startup time: 111 ms TLD scan time: 32
ms
Active sessions: 0 Session count: 147 Max active sessions: 147 Rejected session
creations: 0 Expired sessions: 294 Longest session alive time: 119 s Average
session alive time: 60 s Processing time: 154 ms
JSPs loaded: 2 JSPs reloaded: 4
