The fix was confirmed to correct the problem by the person reporting it. The fix requires recompiling class with the sync block added as described in the note and updating jboss.xml with the modified class file. It's not hard if you have the source. A bug report was filed with JBoss (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=476565&group_i d=22866&atid=376685). Setting the GCInterval to a large value, e.g. 300000 (5 minutes), might alleviate the problem as well. There is an unconfirmed report that GCInterval incorrectly defaults to 0, which could cause jboss to spin in a GC loop.
