We have a new project on the point of starting.

Users will log in to a website and "place an order" - handled by a servlet
most likely. The 'user' is probably a program rather than a person!

The order gets placed in a Queue and "the Database" processes it later
producing a large ammount, say 25Megabytes, of data.

We need to find a reliable way of getting that data back to the client.
Curent thinking is that the client will have a program that can access our
webservers programatically and kick off a transfer but we are very unsure of
the best way to do this.

Should it be ftp, or http?

Should it be via a simple servlet or is there some clever means of employing
an EJB to manage the conversation perhaps at some higher level?

As you can see very vague at present. Any good ideas?

Gerry
