Title: RE: [JBoss-user] Scott Stark, Daniel Fleury or Marc Fleury - Press Release Question (OT)

First, sorry for posting in html it was purely accidental.  And yes, I should have sent mail to jboss.org; I made a big mistake and I learned my lesson.  I was trying to get a response from the three motioned and intentionally put (OT) to let people know that this was "Off Topic".  Since I often read Marc's colorful responses I figured he reads these lists and would take notice.  I was looking for a way to get a response (although not the response I got) from Scott, Daniel or Marc.

I don't want to publicize myself or our work on this forum.  It's not intended for and I'm not trying to sell it to you (jboss-users).  I didn't once mention what the product did, cost, or anything about it.  For all you know I could be representing a non-profit trying to help abused children.  So, how can you make the leap from asking a question about publicizing JBoss to the post being about money I can't figure.  This is purely a way for JBoss to get into the press and we can show support for a product we are passionate about.  I'm not looking for $$ to do it.

Hopefully this is the end of this thread.

Pres s Release Questio n (OT)

Peter and the rest of the list users:

-- NO Flames, Please --

I have to agree with the posting referred to here. Like it or not it is
perception that will get you in the door at a client.

I work at a major energy trading concern (not Enron) in the U.S. and have
been to JBoss training, albiet a while ago. And, I have to say, that, while
I find the JBoss group to be a talented collection of individuals, I am
finding it hard to sell JBoss to management. Not because it is open source,
but because of the, sometimes extremely, unprofessional way that they
present themselves in the user and developer forums.

Believe it or not technical management will look here to get an
understanding of the professional caliber of the people they will be working
with. Do they do this with the other J2EE app server vendors? No. But those
vendors have fleets of salespeople to present their product an a favorable
light. The best way to "sell" this product is by professional demeanor
inside these lists by the core participants. Don't believe for an instant
that decisions are not being made on viability of JBoss based on the
behaviour of its "managers".

If the attitude to this post is, well, ** explitive deleted **, try
refrasing your response without it, expressing the same viewpoint and you
will be well on your way to accomplishing this goal.

Man You are good - I wish I could express myself as clear as U ...

I do not speak on behalf of the JBoss Group - nor has my intention been to
do so - I am a user of this list and I do react to html formated mail ...
also to mail addressed to the wrong recipient ...

If people want to "Talk Shop or Shop Talk" then I suggest they do that at
the bussiness list and keep this one for tech realated issues.

I am not here to attract customers. I am here to learn and share.
